50S Drive-in Film Butcher Intermission, 1982. In the early 80s I managed a drive-in movie theater in Emporia, KS, it was owned by a theater chain so I had little say over what movies were shown and I'd get stuck running all night marathons of film. I got bored one night and recut a pile of junk film into my own parody of the intermission reel, it was designed to mess with the audience. The film is all 35mm and it's one of the first film cut ups that I created, it's video taped off of a movie...

Centron films created this film to promote their marketing skills to corporations in the 1960s, it features excerpts from films they created for one of their main clients Phillips 66. The excerpts included footage of the comedians Rowan and Martin, shown before their television program “Laugh-In” and Anita Bryant. The film is hosted by Centron’s own Herk Harvey, director of the horror classic “Carnival of Souls” and sounds all of the different person involved at Centron as well as the...

This is the only remaining footage from a second feature film that director Herk Harvey started after his earlier production the classic “Carnival of Souls”. The film was based on a short story by science fiction author James Gunn originally published in Galaxy magazine, who was also a professor at the University of Kansas. The footage is from a rough work print on the film, the audio track was missing, but this reel featured all of the known footage. The reel was found in the personal...

Fragmenten, experimental video. This originally came from a collaboration with Joep Van Liefland where I was playing with 16mm projections and wound up shooting the image onto his torso.
